About Better Job Board

Built around a simple idea:

Job search should benefit the people looking for jobs.

Built for job seekers

Most job boards are built for the needs of employers, advertisers, recruiters, and shareholders. The economic incentives lead to cluttered pages, weak filters, stale postings, required accounts, and too many jobs that look relevant until you actually open them.

Job seekers deserve better.

A job board should be simple, fast, respectful of your time, and just plain more useful.

Why this exists

Finding good jobs is a pain.

The jobs are out there, but discovering them is frustrating and inefficient.

Let's say you visit a big name-brand job board. What do you find?

Let's say you visit a niche job board instead. What do you find?

Fed up, you go directly to employer career pages.

So you settle for whatever feels the least bad to you. Or even worse, you have job FOMO and spend each day checking multiple job boards and employer pages, hoping to catch the right opportunity before it's gone.

Better Job Board exists to check the employer career pages for you.

How it works

Our board collects jobs directly from employer career pages.

Every night, it checks hundreds of employers for new jobs. It reads through and finds the details that job seekers care most about: salary, location, seniority, and many other traits. It saves those details to make them searchable.

When you perform a search it shows you those details, along with the original job posting and a link to the employer's application process.

Our board does the information gathering, not to get in your way or make decisions for you, but to give you what you need to be a better decider.

No required accounts, no ads, no paywall, and no tracking beyond the minimum we need to understand whether the site is useful.

Still getting better

There is still so much to improve.

Better UI, better filters, better job data, better employer coverage, and other things we haven't even thought of yet.

Some parts are still rough, and we expect the board to change a lot over time.

The focus will not change: make job search simpler, smarter, and better.
